Memory Box is an exploration of identity, migration and memory from a Sri Lankan Diaspora perspective. Niroshini Thambar draws upon her own cultural history to create an installation using audio memoir, original music and visual/audio ephemera.
Created during an artist residency with the Edinburgh Mela, Memory Box is an act of remembering, of documenting fragments of life story to create a collective experience of memory that honours the past.
